Camera Model:Â Rollei Rolleimatic
Serial#602460650
Description:
The Rollei Rolleimatic is a highly unique, compact 35mm film camera launched in 1980. It holds a bittersweet legacy as the final camera designed by the legendary Heinz Waaske, creator of the iconic Rollei 35, and the very last model production line introduced before the company declared bankruptcy.
Specifications:Â
- Film Format: 35mm film (Standard 24x36mm frame size).
- Focal Length: 38mm slightly wide-angle prime lens.
- Aperture Range: f/2.8 to f/16. The lens is a Rollei Rolleinar (4 elements in 3 groups, Tessar-type).
- Shutter Speeds: Fully automatic, electronically controlled step-less shutter ranging from 4 seconds to 1/500 seconds.
- Focussing: Manual zone/scale focusing. Distances are selected via icons on the lens barrel (Portrait, Group, Landscape) or via a distance scale.
- Viewfinder: Direct-vision, bright-line frame viewfinder featuring two integrated LED indicators (Green for adequate lighting/battery; Red for low-light warning).
- Metering: Programmed automatic exposure (programmed EE) driven by a highly sensitive Silicon Photo Diode (SPD) cell located just above the lens. It handles film speeds manually set from ISO 25 to 400.
- Power: Requires one 6V PX28 lithium or silver-oxide battery (still widely available today as the 4LR44 or PX28L) to power the shutter and meter. [1]
- Flash Control: Fully dedicated hot-shoe on the top of the camera.
- Winding: A unique mechanical feature called the “squeeze-drive” system. The entire front sliding lens cover panel acts as the film advance mechanism. Pushing the entire panel sideways to the right and releasing it advances the film by one frame and cocks the shutter.
