Manufactured by Pentacon in East Germany during the final years of the Cold War, the Praktica BMS Electronic is a sleek, completely manual-focus 35mm SLR built around the modern Praktica B-mount bayonet system. Stripping away unnecessary gimmicks, it focuses heavily on the fundamentals, making it a fantastic, straightforward choice for students, beginners, or anyone looking to master the relationship between shutter speed and aperture.

The BMS features a crisp Through-The-Lens (TTL) silicon photo-element light meter that utilizes a highly intuitive vertical “match-LED” array inside the viewfinder. Simply select your aperture on the lens, adjust the tactile top shutter dial until the green LED aligns perfectly, and shoot. Equipped with a reliable, electronically controlled vertical-metal focal-plane shutter that fires up to 1/1000s, it delivers incredibly consistent performance.

This kit comes paired with a versatile Sigma 28-70mm f/3.5-4.5 zoom lens. Covering everything from wide-angle landscapes at 28mm to standard portraits at 70mm, it is a fantastic all-in-one “user setup” for everyday snapshot photography and experimentation.

Lens: Good Condition.
The camera body is in fair condition with honest cosmetic scuffs and signs of wear from previous journeys. Mechanically, the camera functions well: film transport is smooth, the viewfinder is clear, the shutter fires accurately across all speeds, and the internal light meter correctly displays exposure values when looking through the viewfinder. The external check button on the body is non-functional. The Sigma 28-70mm zoom lens is in good condition, featuring clear glass elements free of fungus or heavy haze, responsive aperture blades, and smooth mechanical rings.

Clean: Lenses, viewfinders and camera bodies are carefully cleaned.
Lubricate: If necessary we lubricate key areas of the camera such as film advance or shutter mechanisms.
Adjust: Shutter speeds and film advance mechanisms are adjusted if required. Light seals are replaced as needed.

Warranty
A 6 months warranty is provided with all used camera equipment. If you experience a problem with your purchase during the first six months we will either repair, replace or refund the camera.
