Description:

The Pentax Pino 35 is a basic, user-friendly 35mm compact point-and-shoot camera introduced by Pentax in 1984. Serving as the debut model for the budget-conscious “Pino” lineup, it prioritized fun, plastic simplicity over heavy electronic automation. It is a “focus-free” model, meaning it relies on a deep depth of field to keep your shots sharp without any manual or electronic focusing adjustments required.

Specifications:

  • Lens: Pentax 38mm f/3.8 (a simple, coated 3-element, 3-group glass optics arrangement).
  • Focusing: Fixed focus / Focus free. The preset optical alignment naturally keeps everything from 1.5 meters out to infinity crisp and in focus.
  • Exposure: Manual weather-symbol exposure system. The user rotates a ring on the front barrel to match current conditions—Sunny, Light Cloud, or Heavy Cloud—which directly shifts the lens aperture across a range of f/3.8 to f/19.
  • ISO Range: Manual selection via a secondary ring on the lens barrel, supporting limited standard film speeds of ISO 100, 200, and 400.
  • Metering: No automatic exposure metering. It utilizes a basic Cadmium Sulfide (CdS) light cell positioned on the lens face solely to trigger a red low-light warning LED inside the viewfinder.
  • Shutter Speeds: Fixed, single-speed mechanical leaf shutter locked permanently at 1/125s.
  • Flash: Built-in manual electronic flash (Guide Number 12) deployed by sliding a physical switch on the camera face upward, which raises a small block containing a “flash ready” pilot lamp.
  • Power: Requires two AA batteries, exclusively used to power the flash and low-light viewfinder warning light.

Condition:
Fair, batteries included.
