Dressing Table
Alfie Tych (Meniscus lens) – Fomapan 200 Rodinal 1+25 5:00

Taken at Wightwick Manor, a 19th century house constructed between 1887-1893. Roger like how the Tych meniscus lens enhances the Victorian feel of the place. We like how the reflection in the mirror draws the eye in, leaving you to digest the rest of the image once your brain has processed what looks like sausage and egg wallpaper!

What film do you like to shoot with?
I generally shoot everything in black and white, both because it has a timeless value, and because I can easily develop it myself. I love it when I see a really good image that could have been taken anytime in the last 50 years or so.

A great street photography image with wonderful light. A bit of lens flare from the premium lens is typical when shooting directly into the sun. In this case the flare adds a lot to the atmosphere of this image.

What do you like about the TYCH?
Itโ€™s so small, I can carry it anywhere, including when Iโ€™m out cycling. I seem to favour the 30mm single meniscus lens, mainly for its dreamy quality. Being half frame, you can take a lot of pictures, which means that Iโ€™m not so careful about what I shoot, which means that I shoot more.

Flood Waters
Alfie Tych (Meniscus lens) – Fomapan 200 Rodinal 1+25 5:00

This was shot on Fomapan 200 whilst out for a walk. Itโ€™s a view of the flood plain of the River Sow, which seems to have been continuously flooded since last October. Taken on one of those rare occasions when the sun comes out. The image is a very painterly feel to it which made it our favourite as well.
.
Which of your 3 images is your favourite and why?
I think that my favourite is the flood waters image. It has the look of a 19th century landscape painting, reminding me of a Constable or a Turner (though not as good!)
